DAILY STAR – Prince Harry flashed signs of nervousness hours after announcing his engagement to Meghan Markle, a body language expert told Daily Star Online. In an interview with BBC presenter Mishal Husain, the pair spoke of their hopes of having a baby as well as Meghan’s ring – which was inspired by Princess Diana.

“An interesting tell for both of them is their legs. Harry’s leg more so than Meghan’s would shake from time to time suggesting a bit of unease.”

COSMOPOLITAN – Although confirmation of Khloé’s pregnancy was long-awaited and well received, with more than 7.4 million Instagram likes in less than 24 hours, her post appeared to clarify only two things: that she is, indeed, pregnant, and that her boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, is the father.

“When a couple holds hands, the person whose hands are on top tends to take a more dominant role in the relationship,” says Cobb.

“The word ‘that’ signifies a psychological distance or disconnect between Michael and Phil, which indicates a rivalry, not a friendship.”

COSMOPOLITAN – Although body language typically reflects a couple’s emotional connection, you can’t fully interpret it without context — particularly when observing how a royal couple behaves in public, according to body language expert Blanca Cobb.

“They may be more reserved [than other couples] in their public displays of affection, but that doesn’t mean they love each other any less or aren’t excited about each other,” Cobb says.”

GOOD HOUSEKEEPING – By some estimates, the average person tells at least one little white lie per day. A small fib here or there likely doesn’t do much damage, but when it’s someone you love and trust that’s struggling to stick to the truth, it’s a bit more worrying.

“When under stress, you’ll show snippets of your true emotions on your face,” says Cobb. “These micro-expressions occur within 1/15th of a second.”

“When Prince Harry was talking about his mother’s diamonds as part of the engagement ring, Meghan gently and subtly rubbed her thumb against his hand providing silent encouragement and support. This was a nonverbal way of saying, ‘It’s okay. I’m with you,’ ” Cobb said.”

POPSUGAR – According to Good Housekeeping, Meghan is always touching her hair. If we had Meghan’s chic, relaxed waves, we’d probably be touching our strands all the time, too. But there’s a deeper significance to this habit — and it’s totally relatable.

“In this situation, Meghan’s hair touch is a soothing gesture. Her head is also tilted down slightly. Sometimes when you feel too much attention you might tuck your chin down as a way to shield yourself.”

HEAVY – For years, the cameras have captured Prince Harry using a strange hand gesture, in which he tucks his hand inside his coat or suit jacket, or lays it right on top of it, covering his abdomen.

“Prince Harry’s arm placed across his abdomen serves as a barrier to separate or distance himself from something that he makes him uncomfortable,” said Blanca Cobb, body language expert and author of Methods of the Masters, to Good Housekeeping. “In this case, it could be having photos taken.”

GOOD HOUSEKEEPING – We all have our fair share of habits. Some bite their nails. Others cross their arms. As for Meghan Markle, she touches her hair — constantly. Meghan — and the rest of the world — unknowingly perform these behaviors to provide comfort. Self-soothers, if you will.

“Some people touch their hair, play with their fingernails, or rub their arms, as a way to psychologically and physiologically calm themselves when they’re feeling anxious, uncomfortable, or stressed,” Blanca Cobb, body language expert and author of Methods of the Masters, told GoodHousekeeping.com.
